This paper proposed a coupled inductor based single-switch step-up hybrid switched capacitor DC-DC converter with the advantages of continuously adjustable ultrahigh voltage gain, low input current ripple, and potential for high power density. The converter employs a quadratic boost converter (QBC) on the input side to ensure continuous input current, and the first switched-capacitor (SC) cell is implanted inside it, connected by a coupled inductor (CL) to achieve high gain characteristics. The second SC cell is placed on the output side to reduce voltage spikes generated by leakage inductance and further increase the voltage gain. Analysis including operating principle, steady-state key equations derivation, and comparisons are discussed. A prototype is implemented to verify the theoretical analysis.
