In this article, a novel two-gain guidance law is investigated for the problem of impact-angle controlled interception of nonmaneuvering moving targets considering seeker field-of-view limit. The problem considers a planar surface-to-surface engagement scenario where the target moves either along the initial line-of-sight or opposite to that. Imposing a desired impact-angle and maximum field-of-view limit of the seeker as constraints, closed-form expressions of the two guidance gains are deduced. Feasible solutions guaranteeing a bounded lateral acceleration profile are obtained as expressed in maximum look-angle–impact-angle, and maximum look angle–target speed design spaces. Extensive numerical simulations are carried out showing the efficacy of the proposed guidance method in intercepting moving targets without violating the seeker field-of-view limit. In contrast to existing guidance methods, the proposed work presents a simpler solution which does not rely on bias addition, switching, or iterative routines.
