In braking conditions, the clutch and transmission control of automated mechanical transmission (AMT) system is different from that in the natural condition. This paper analyzes the reasons that causes driver's braking operation, concludes the characteristics of automatic operating of power-train and sets down the rules of gear position decision and the combination control of AMT in this condition.
