Wireless sensor networking is an emergent technology that attracted a wide range of potential application in both civilian, military areas and modern application for monitoring environmental and target tracking. The major problem of wireless sensor networks is very small lifetime of sensor networks and it needs very high-level maintenance because the sensor nodes are equipped with low power battery. Probability model that the forms cluster head is unbalanced and unreachable. It is always desired to maximize the overall performance of the nodes. In this paper, proposed Sensitive and reachable cluster head (SRCH) routing protocol. In this protocol cluster head is selected based on ratio between the current energy level and an initial energy level, and multiplies by the root of number of neighbor nodes. The simulation results of SRCH protocol, is compared with LEACH and TEEN protocol and found more efficient with higher lifetime.
