Permanent-magnet synchronous motor is one of the most suitable choices in urban rail transit. On this occasion, the traction inverter need to keep low switching frequency in order to reduce switching losses, and six-step operation is needed to obtain the maximum output voltage. In order to achieve the multi-objective control and deal with a variety of constraints, model predictive control method is a more convenient way than the traditional scheme with linear controllers and synchronous optimal modulation. In this paper, a predictive current control scheme for permanent-magnet synchronous motor including quasi six-step operation is proposed, and the switching frequency is restricted to hundreds of hertz. The performance of proposed method is demonstrated by simulation results.
