As the load of power system, the power factor of urban rail power supply system is poor. Therefore, reactive power compensation device is used for reactive power compensation in urban rail power supply system. In this paper, the urban rail power supply system with static var generator (SVG) is modeled, and the power flow algorithm of DC/AC unified network is given. Meanwhile, a design method of reactive power compensation device is proposed, which is based on the centralized compensation scheme of reactive power compensation device in the low voltage(35/33kV) bus of high voltage substation.
