High-frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR) is a reliable ship surveillance device that can cover a vast area. The weakness of this radar is its low spatial and time resolution, which causes low tracking performance for ships with high maneuverability. This study tested the ship tracking algorithm on various types of ship maneuvers. The effort to improve tracking performance is carried out by detecting the ship using two radars working together. The tracking accuracy is increased compared to tracking with a single radar. The results show that the tracking errors with dual radars decreased by 65.3% on linear ship motion and 45.9% on maneuvering ships compared to monitoring with a single radar. The results conclude that integrating dual radar can significantly improve the tracking process.
