With the rapid development of positioning technology, artificial intelligence, and communication technology, the train control system is developing towards the direction of autonomy. In order to improve the autonomy of train operation, a train-centric communication based Autonomous Train Control System (ATCS) is proposed. Firstly, the paper presents the structure and principle of the ATCS, and its typical core scenarios. Furthermore, taking the autonomous operation in the autonomous resource management scenario as an example, the functions of each device and the information interaction between modules are discussed. Finally, the stochastic Petri nets (SPNs) are applied to model the autonomous operation process. Numerical analysis of the different parameters was carried out to verify the performance and availability of the proposed system.
