The report summarizes the results of the system component review for the Penn Lincoln Parkway corridor. The component design and system capacities include the initial 30 mile phase of the project, from the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the new Southern Expressway Interchange (State Route 60), to an expanded size which includes surveillance and control of a 66 mile area that incorporates the I-79, I-279 and Southern Expressway corridors. The report develops and presents three system configurations - Basic, Expanded, and Full. It evaluates the following system components; variable message signs, highway advisory radio, closed circuit television, accident investigation sites, traffic flow detectors, and traffic management center.
