The highway improvement consists of the reconstruction of SR 90 to six lanes with fully controlled limited access from the Lower Crossing of the Snoqualmie River to the Snoqualmie National Forest Boundary, a distance of 4.06 miles in King County, Washington, on a new alignment generally on the north side of the river. This highway serves a major portion of the State's annual 10.1 million visitors, together with intrastate and interstate commercial truck traffic. The project will provide a smoother and safer traffic flow and improved recreational access at the expense of disruption of the river, adjacent lands and their inhabitants.
