The Aerosol Release and Transport from the Liquid-Metal Fast Breeder Reactor Fuel Program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory is designed to investigate the release, transport, and behavior of radionuclides originating from a hypothetical core-disruptive accident (HCDA) in an LMFBR. The analytical effort is designed to support the experiments and provide an independent assessment of the safety margins that exist for assessment of the radiological consequences of an HCDA. During this reporting period, 13 tests were performed in the FAST facility, including seven tests in the FAST vessel and six tests in the CRI-III vessel, which is part of the FAST facility.
