Tests of rocket motors in a fuel fire were conducted to try to determine failure mechanism(s) and type of reaction. Several concepts were explored in an effort to devise a method of producing mild reactions. Details of these tests are presented as well as a failure mechanism hypothesis and recommendations for designers. (Author)
