The required properties of standard load sequences are reviewed. The standard load sequence for transport aircraft wings (TWIST) and the fighter aircraft loading standard (FALSTAFF) are compared and reasons are given for their differences. The uses of standard load sequences for evaluation of material properties, fabrication techniques, structural details (fasteners), spectrum variation effects, and analytical prediction techniques are summarized.
