Different concepts of active 3-axis stabilization of satellites on a geostationary transfer orbit are considered, including the apogee boost phase. The concepts are chosen in function of the solar arrays and antenna configurations, and are applicable to a liquid apogee boost motor case. Included are: the identification of constraints, the derivation of attitude control requirements, comparison of overall configurations, attitude control concepts, and a more detailed investigation of some typical AOCS approaches. A cost estimate of the AOCS approaches is given.
