The results of an analysis of 640 accidents in which one of the vehicles was a car are described, with special reference to occupants who were injured by windscreen glass. The data were drawn from records during the years 1955 to 1964. The sample of accidents contained a larger proportion of seriously injured people than that given in the national figures relating to personal injury accidents. The analysis examines the frequency of injury and its degree of severity among car occupants, according to their seated position and to the type of glass in the windscreen. (Author)
