Travel Demand Management--or TDM, as it is popularly known--describes a wide range of actions that are geared toward improving the efficiency of travel demand. The report is the main product of a study that was sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration, with support from the Federal Transit Administration and the Institute of Transportation Engineers, to try to set the facts straight and provide the most comprehensive, accurate and useable guidance on TDM.
