The project is located in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. It is situated ten (10) miles southeast of Tyrone, twenty-six (26) miles southwest of State College, and twelve (12) miles northwest of Huntingdon. Existing Traffic Route 45 serves as a connection between U.S. 22 and State College, Pennsylvania. State College is the location of the Pennsylvania State University. The existing roadway is extremely sub-standard and very hazardous to drive. The proposed project will remove thru traffic from the existing roadway. Environmental impacts are discussed.
