With the decrease in enemy activity during early February, more reliance was placed on the reconnaissance and surveillance program to determine enemy locations and their possible courses of action. While flying in support of II Corps during the last quarter, the 17th Aviation Group reported 243 aircraft hit by hostile fire. Twenty-three standoff rocket and mortar attacks were launched at the 17th Aviation Group installations this quarter. Damage and casualties for the entire quarter were considered to be relatively light.
