This final report was written to reveal the results of a fourteen (14) week feasibility study on a tool identification list program for outside machinery operations. The scope of this project includes the complete development and evaluation of a tool identification list pilot program. This project was performed as part of the National Shipbuilding Research Program, under subcontract to Bath Iron Works Corporation. Funding was provided jointly by the Maritime Administration (MarAd) and the U. S. shipbuilding industry. Administration of this project was through the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) Sp-S panel on Industrial Engineering. Performance of the project was by the Industrial Engineering Department of Ingalls Shipbuilding.
