How will the AH-1 support OMFTS/OTH Operations/MV-22 Employment Concept. Under current and future Marine Corps Amphibious Doctrine, The AH-1 will not be able to effectively support the MV-22 within the scope of the OMFT/ OTH Concept. The USMC attack helicopter has not evolved fast enough to keep pace with technological and doctrinal advances. With the introduction of the MV-22 'TILTROTOR' assault support aircraft and emerging OMFTS doctrine, the AH-1 cannot keep pace with increased speeds and ranges. This leaves the MV-22 to fend for itself on amphibious assault missions, without the intimate protection of attached escort.
