The main interactions between the external stores and fighter aircraft as a whole are considered. Since the context is that of fighter design, the understanding of the magnitude of those efforts which can be chosen by designers is concentrated on. The factors affect the overall value of a fighter airforce as a whole, so that the sensitivity of value to these factors can be appreciated. Then the influence of the separate factors is considered: drag and other installed forces, trajectory testing in wind tunnels, stability and flutter, agility, and airframe/store integration.
