A technical evaluation is presented of the AGARD-PEP Specialists' Meeting on Combat Aircraft Noise at Bonn, October 1991. The meeting concentrated on the noise from combat aircraft on low-altitude high-speed training missions. Considerable improvement was reported on the understanding and prediction of various noise components. One of the main conclusions was that the overall effectiveness of reduction of engine based noise critically depends on the airframe noise level at high flight speeds and more work is required in this area to clarify the situation.
