The bulletin describes the basis on which was formulated the guidelines for guard rails in urban areas between bicycle paths and routes for motor vehicles. The basis consists of data on traffic accident risks and accident consequences and of a method to calculate the expected frequency of collisions between motor vehicles and pedestrians/cyclists on the bicycle path.
