Spacecraft testing with multiaxis vibration test facilities was evaluated in a number of studies. The provision of such facilities is particularly useful for reproducing predicted flight transients and flight measurements simultaneously in different axes. As a result realistic testing of space hardware might be accomplished as compared with sine and random testing. Hydraulic test facilities provide capabilities for testing large satellites that exceed the limits of electrodynamic shakers. An overview of recent developments in this area is presented with respect to hydraulic testing technology and implementation of such test procedures by the satellite community and launcher authorities.
