Numerical elements of an advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code regarding computational speed and accuracy are addressed. With increasing Mach number of high speed vehicles there is a growing need for the design people to get information on the steadily growing complexity of the flows outside and inside these airplanes. Results of several calculations performed to gain insight into the flow in hypersonic intakes are presented.
