The Carrier Based Air Logistics Study (CABAL) was conducted to examine alternative logistics support policies for avionics equipment with respect to their potential to improve aircraft availability and performance in wartime. The study considers the entire logistics support system and the interaction of its various functions and resources, through a detailed examination of expected avionics suite availability under alternative logistics structures and policies. It deals with six aircraft types included in most carrier deckloads--the F14A, S-3A, E-2C, and three A-6 variants. Most of the substantive results presented are based on analysis of avionics suite support for three first three type, model, series of aircraft listed above. (Author)
