This report compares fatality counts and estimates of people injured resulting from motor vehicle traffic crashes occurring in 2007, with counts and estimates from final 2006 files. As usual, the final numbers reported are updated from the previously released annual file data; the 2006 final file shows an increase of 66 more fatalities. Counts and estimates are based on Fatality Analysis Reporting System and NASS General Estimates System files, as indicated in the sources listed on page 4. The fatality counts for 2007 will be finalized next year. Data from 2006 and prior years are final and will not be updated again.
