A mathematical error model defining a typical geometry and relevant parameters associated with locating a target on the ground from an airborne Scout helicopter has been developed. Analysis of the model has demonstrated that the major contributions to target location error are navigation error and heading error, and that all other errors considered are relatively insignificant.
