Propulsion data are given for a series of single-screw cargo liners including block coefficients from 0.525 to 0.75 and length/breadth ratios from 6.18 to 8.35 with a standard breadth/draft of 2.4. The 'standard forms' of the series have fore/afterbody sections of 'Moderate U' character. The propulsion tests were carried out according to the continental method, by which the ship model is free from the towing carriage and unloaded by a towing force in the direction of motion. The presentation of non-dimensional propulsive data includes open water characteristics of the standard propellers used as well as graphs for thrust deduction factor, wake fraction and hull efficiency. Propulsion data are dimensionally given as predicted shaft horsepower as function of the ship's speed, length, breadth, displacement, etc., all in metric units. Propeller survey diagrams are also included, giving diameter, pitch ratio and efficiency on basis of ship speed, propeller SHP and RPM and wake fraction. (Author)
