The report represents an update of an economic feasibility analysis prepared for the development of a new berth and related facilities for the handling of containerized cargo at the Port of Acajutla. The purpose of the report is to assess the feasibility of constructing new container handling facilities at the Port of Acajutla in light of existing conditions and the outlook for container traffic at the Port. The report provides a review of current container activity, an overview of existing Central America container trade, a forecast of Acajutla's Potential container traffic, capacity analysis, a review of alternative designs, an updated cost of the selected alternative, and financial and economic analysis.
