An experimental program was conducted in the AEDC-VKF hypervelocity Wind Tunnel (F) at a nominal Mach number of 19 to determine the static stability and axial-force characteristics of a 0.01-scale model of the NASA Space Shuttle Orbiter. The tests were conducted at an angle of attack of 30 deg at free-stream Reynolds numbers (based on model length) from 100000 to 400000. The results are compared to previous AEDC data at Mach numbers 8, 10, and 16. (Author)
