A man-in-the-loop simulation study was performed to investigate remote operator control of an RPV during approach and landing in instrument conditions. Pitch attitude and flight path angle stabilization were compared using both pilots and nonpilots. The results showed better performance with flight path angle stabilization; however, loss rates were high for all modes. Recommendations were made concerning remote operator control during routine operations. (Author)
