This short comparative case study is intended to assist students in considering location and culture when talking about everyday infrastructure and experiences. It uses reflection, discussion, and online videos to first introduce the topic and then give more information. This material was developed as an introduction to a virtual-exchange collaboration in an ELF environment. It requires vocabulary for transportation (roads, bicycles, bike lanes), routine (usually, never, seldom), and preference. It has potential extension to talking about laws and regulations and weather.
