The prospect of floating, exhilaratingly unbound, in microgravity has long drawn people to space exploration, but now that some astronauts and cosmonauts have spent upward of a year in space, it turns out that the thrills of weightlessness do not come scot-free. Living in a near lack of gravity can trigger a daunting range of ailments. Here, Hadhazy discusses the countermeasures for microgravity during space missions.
