This unusual approach to crankcase ventilation and emission control utilizes negative crankcase pressure as an aid in matching intake manifold pumping capacity to engine blowby and crankcase ventilation requirements. The resulting system offers complete control of crankcase emissions, requires a minimum of attention, and has never been known to become inoperative because of control valve plugging. The system can be adjusted to match the blowby of engines of all sizes and all stages of wear. Valuable side effects include improvements in engine and oil cleanliness, reductions of oil leakage and internal oil consumption, and reductions in emission of exhaust pollutants.
