In recent years, mobile robots have been increasingly applied in industrial, medical, agricultural, and service sectors. Due to the limited flexibility of conventional wheeled robots, especially in narrow environments with multiple obstacles, they often fail to navigate and track trajectories effectively. This paper presents the design of an omnidirectional mobile robot with a Mecanum wheel chassis to address the limitations of conventional wheeled robots in navigating and tracking in cluttered environments. Leveraging the excellent maneuverability and flexibility of Mecanum wheels, combined with advanced sensors, this robot uses microcontroller control of the Mecanum wheels to enable smooth navigation and effective obstacle avoidance and trajectory tracking.
