This paper establishes a vehicle dynamics model using ADAMS/Car and verifies its effectiveness by analyzing the vehicle structure data provided by a vehicle manufacturer. At the same time, with the shortest braking distance S as the optimization goal, the design parameters of friction coefficient β, effective braking radius R, front brake and rear brake wheel cylinder piston area A were optimized based on ADAMS/Insight orthogonal test method. The application of the GB/12676-1999 automotive braking test conditions for simulation verification of the optimisation scheme reveals that the post-optimisation outcomes exhibit notable improvements in various braking parameters. Specifically, the optimised scheme results in a reduction of 6.2 meters in the braking distance (S), a 17.7% enhancement in braking efficiency, a decrease of 0.53 seconds in braking time, and a substantial 97.8% improvement in slip angle. These findings indicate a significant enhancement in the overall braking performance of the vehicle, thereby augmenting its safety.
