Abstract As a result of growing global requirements, the automotive researchers are forced to develop flexible, reliable, and economical automotive systems which require less energy during the operation. Reducing fuel consumption is an important environmental and economic requirement for vehicle systems. Since the driveline system has an important role in the emission of the vehicle, the development of the longitudinal control systems is in the focus of the research and development of the vehicle industry.
