Abstract Traditional path planning method only consider the shortest path, as a result the planning paths may not be the best path if there is a congestion occurred in the planning path. This paper proposed a path planning based on dynamic traffic information to apply in vehicle navigation system. The dynamic information which includes the status of the road section in real-time can be applied in real time navigation. The optimal dynamic routing according to dynamic traffic information can avoid traffic jams automatically and save cost for user. The experiments showed the feasibility and effectiveness of real-time path planning based on dynamic traffic information.
