The green port status is a novel idea for ports, particularly in handling dangerous goods in the maritime industry. Preventing and reducing pollution at the port is a critical factor to address in order to have the safest port operation. The term “green” refers to new ideas, innovations, and transitions, which includes the port’s technical handling process. Because the green port is still in its initial stages of implementation, it is vital to determine what elements should be monitored by ports in their everyday operations. The aim of this study is to investigate the Port of Tanjung Pelepas current hazardous cargo practices and the relationship between hazardous cargo practices toward green port performance. Consequently, a purposive sampling method was used and 66 respondents from a total of 80 respondents were selected using the Krejcie and Morgan’s table. On the other hand, the open-ended and closed-ended pilot tested questionnaire by relevant respondents is employed to obtain primary data, and the secondary data from the literature review have been translated into useful information by utilizing the qualitative content analysis. Next, descriptive analysis was used to determine the current hazardous cargo practices and the Pearson correlation was used to determine the relationship between the variables. The finding revealed that there is a strong relationship between the variables.
