The so called Restitution Coefficient “e” was defined by Newton and plays a very important role in collision theory and has a value between 0 and 1. When “e” is zero, the collision is called plastic and when it is 1 it is called elastic, resulting in the first case that the vehicles continue together after the crash and in the second that they bounce.
