Contemporary economic reality determines new conditions for the behavior of market entities in the global supply chains, involving them in the process of international exchange of inventory items. This is facilitated by the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, which should be understood as a set of elements for carrying out logistics operations in the process of transporting products in supply chains. The contribution investigates issues of improving the country’s transport operations. Particular attention is paid to the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, the need to build new transport routes, optimize cargo transportation processes in supply chains, form logistics centers, restructure and develop transport corridors, as well as identify factors that negatively affect the development of the transport industry and develop proposals for their neutralization. The authors note that it is necessary to focus on unified information management of intermodal transportation with the provision of a full range of services, the introduction of advanced digital technologies that will optimize flow processes in supply chains, increasing the profitability of transport companies. Improving transport performance will significantly affect the stabilization of the country’s economy.
