This chapter presents a robust maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control design for a standalone photovoltaic (PV) system subject to actuator saturation via polynomial Tackagi-Seguno (T-S) Fuzzy model based control approach. In order to optimize the installation cost, an output feedback controller is designed which reduce the number of sensors of current and voltage required. In addition, the problem of input saturation (duty cycle) is addressed by using constrained control approach. The stabilization conditions subject to H \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$\mathcal {H}_\infty $$\end{document} performance of the closed-loop system are derived and solved in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMI’s) and sum of squares (SOS) optimization problems. Simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.
