Distributed drive vehicles can make full use of the independent drive control of the left and right hub motors to achieve differential steering. Differential steering is the turning action of the vehicle achieved by the speed difference generated by the left and right drive wheels under different driving forces. Currently, differential steering technology is mainly divided into differential assisted steering with a steering system and differential drive steering without a steering system. For multi-wheel drive vehicles, particularly military multi-axle vehicles, the steering system can be unreliable in harsh field conditions. Therefore, removing the steering system and relying entirely on differential steering not only improves maneuverability but also allows for a turning radius of 0, greatly enhancing the combat capability of military vehicles. This book introduces the technology of multi-axle, multi-wheel differential steering, which is based on a hub motor-driven unmanned vehicle with three axles and six wheels.
