The mixing characteristics of the Rosette-type diffuser consisting of four horizontal ports in each riser have been investigated by collecting extensive experimental data at a wide range of discharge and still water conditions in relatively shallow water. The merging height diagram, based on the numerical integration and iteration of few equations derived empirically and geometrically for merging in a riser and between risers, shows that the merging height increases with increasing riser spacing between risers. The experimental results for the surface minimum dilution at still ambient conditions show the underestimation of line plume soluti on to the measured values especially in shallow water and show the gradual decrease of surface minimum dilution at the merging of buoyant jets increases from the sequence of the dilution for a single horizontal buoyant jet, two-ports, and a four-port Rosette-type diffuser.
