In the present scenario, high-performance airplanes are required for the airplane industry. Generally, high-speed engines work on high pressure, and it will play a vital role in combustion. Ramjet engine is one of them which will fly above Mach 3. Ramjet engines are air-breathing engines that represent the pinnacle of high-speed propulsion technology, operating efficiently at hypersonic speeds and playing a vital role in various aerospace applications. This paper discusses the important technological milestones and advancements that have shaped the evolution of ramjet technology using a chronological analysis that spans from the early 1950s to the present day. Furthermore, it dives into the deep complexities of the numerical analysis techniques used in the design process, with a focus on the governing equations, boundary conditions, and assumptions required for accurate simulations. By explaining the complexities of ramjet engine design requirements, this study hopes to provide significant insights for realizing and improving the subject of high-speed propulsion.
