In this study, multiple cell geometries of honeycomb fabrics were woven by varying the cell size, free wall length, bonded wall length, opening angle, and the number of layers while maintaining the cell size and overall thickness. By changing the number of picks, the cell geometry was altered. 600 Tex E-glass tows were used to create fabric prototypes. The construction is identical for all of the constituent walls, which are all made from 2D plain cloth. Honeycomb fabric and epoxy resin were combined to make composite samples utilising the VARIM (vacuum-assisted resin infusion method) (matrix). To determine edgewise compressive properties, several cell types and the quantity of honeycomb layers were taken into consideration. It was found that compression energy absorption is affected by changes in structural parameters. According to the findings, honeycombs with smaller cell sizes, an opening angle of 60 degrees, and a greater number of layers show higher ultimate and specific load. 3D woven honeycomb made of glass fibre reinforced epoxy composite failed in the manner of non-linear elasticity, i.e. elastic buckling. These findings may be utilised to design 3D woven honeycomb fabric-based sandwich composite structures that can withstand particular loads.
