The problem of realizing a systems approach to the design of an on-board energy system for transportation applications as a unified technical complex including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other on-board systems for provision of auxiliary energy is considered. A possible approach is presented to solution of the problem that is based on utilization of machine methods for synthetizing the variety of possible solutions for construction of a unified on-board energy complex within the framework of the available element base and a directed search for the best solution in accordance with the criterial indices adopted. Realization of this approach will ensure improvement of the technical-economic indices of transportation equipment being designed.
