The work described in this report summarizes a six-month study to develop a lightweight, tactical electric power plant with a low level of aural, I.R., and visual detectability, based on a Stirling engine. The conceptual design presented was analyzed and predicted to have power output qualities exceeding those specified by the Army for tactical generators. The unit promises to have maintenance and overhaul requirement characteristics superior to any generator system in current use. (Author)
