The application of advanced high strength steels becomes more and more important. To fulfil the CO2 commitment and to reach high costumer satisfaction, the car manufacturers have to reduce weight and cost while simultaneously improving crash performance and quality. It is shown, that the advanced high strength steels combine high strength with good formability and are an important aspect for weight reduction and safety improvement. To use these materials, there are many challenges to overcome, e.g. springback compensation and adaptation of simulation tools.
